This Week’s Offering

The weeks just pass so quickly!  Another wonderful template from Erin, at The Bright Owl  was posted.  Here’s my rendition:

Zendala Dare #92I’ve drawn this one on blue card stock and used Micron .01 & .005 pens to draw the tangles.

Hope you like my offering.  Would love to receive a comment.  Thanks for stopping by.

On a Roll

Quote

Just joking….  I’m not literally “on a roll,”  I’m just been keeping very busy Zentangling.  Below is this week’s Zendala Dare from The Bright Owl.  I did not alter the original template, so I’m not posting it.  You might enjoy checking out the other entries. It’s amazing how each entry is unique despite using the same template.  That is what makes doing the Zendala Dare each week so much fun.

Zendala Dare #91

I used a Micron .005 pen to outline the template and draw the tangles.  Fine-line pens and colored pencils added the color.  I shaded with a graphite pencil.  I do hope you’ll take a minute and leave a comment.  Thanks so much for viewing.

I did three Valentine Day cards this year:

Valentine - dr 2014

Drawn on white card stock using Micron .005 pen and colored with fine line pens.

Valentine - hg 2014Drawn on pink card stock using Micron .005 pen and colored with fine line pens.

All three cards have sentiments on the inside which I didn’t scan.

Thanks so much for viewing.  Do hope you will leave a comment.

Aquafleur

Quote

It’s been a while since I’ve drawn a Zentangle Inspired Art piece for “I Am The Diva.”  I love doing her challenges but of late, I seem to have been very busy with other projects.  However, today I produced a piece using the new tangle Aquafleur, created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.  You can see the instructions on how to draw this beautiful tangle by going to:  http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs119/1101168872594/archive/1116292742131.html

The name they gave this new tangle intrigued me.  Of course, I had to Google the word.  The results were lots of sites related to aquariums and decorating them.  Some of the greens known as “Aquafleur”  look like this:

bp01 bp09This water plants are a far cry from the tangle drawn below.  Despite the fact that the tangle’s name has no bearing on the real life plant, I loved Maria’s creation of this organic and flowing tangle.  My rendition is far from the lovely pieces created by Maria, but I enjoyed drawing my own version of this tangle, shown below:

Diva Challenge #152-AquafleurI used Micron .01 pen to draw this tangle and then added color using Prismacolor pencils.  It is shaded with graphite pencil.  Zinger is the name of the tangle on the outer rim of this ZIA.  This one is drawn on 8″ x 8″ card stock.  Do hope you like it.  I look forward to your comments.

Zendala Dare #90

The weeks whiz by so quickly.  Here’s the new Zendala Dare from Erin at The Bright Owl.  It’s her birthday and she’s requested that we tell her our favorite tangle and then use it in the template.  It’s a hard choice.  There are so many tangles and most all of them are so much fun and sometimes a challenge to draw.  I finally chose Paradox, an official Zentangle pattern.  Whenever I see a triangle shape, this tangle immediately springs to mind.  I like to draw it using a .005 pen to achieve the fine lines that make the pattern so interesting.

In fact, this entire Zendala was drawn with Prismacolor .005 fine line colored pens.  (I got them for Christmas).  The other tangles used are Sand Swirl, Merryweather (on outer rim) and N’Zeppel (in the middle).  The shading was done with a #2 pencil.  I hope you enjoy viewing this Zendala.  Your comments are always welcome and appreciated.

Spellbound

Quote

“I remember being spellbound when I saw my first seahorse as a child. It seemed as exotic and remote as the seahorses of myth and legend and equally enthralling. Ever since, these extraordinary fish, and their relatives, have fascinated me. Seahorses have captured the imagination of humans for thousands of years and have a powerful presence in myth and legend.”

Zentangle 291 - Seahorses

Thanks to Ben Kwok at Ornation Creation on Facebook, who provided the template for the two seahorses, I had the pleasure to create my own fantasy of these creatures.

I used MIcron .01 and .005 pens to fill the template and add the additional tangles.  It is colored with fine line pens, Prismacolor pencils and shaded with graphite.

Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed creating them
